Green Tourism and Visit Scotland at workshop in 2013

A new workshop on 6 February will explore the potential for an integrated carbon accounting methodology for tourism that can be applied across a range of destination scales.

Speakers will include key representatives from the sector:

  • Carbon accounting for tourism operators: Opportunities and challenges.
    Jon Proctor, Technical Director, Green Tourism Business Scheme
  • Integrating sustainability into the annual visit: A focus on carbon accounting.
    Janie Neumann, Industry Sustainability Manager, VisitScotland
  • Carbon accounting for transport within tourism: Issues, challenges and data needs.
    Dr Rachel Dunk, Crichton Carbon Centre

Attendance is free but participants must register online where you can also contribute to our survey.

The event will take place at the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, on the afternoon of the same day as the Communities workshop which you can read about here. Refreshments will be provided for those attending at lunch-time.

Outcomes of all our workshops will contribute to the 5th International Conference on Carbon Accounting.
